Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has revealed how he keeps fit at his age.

He spoke on Friday at a novelty match organised as part of the activities to mark his 85th birthday celebration.

The game was played at the 5-aside football pitch of the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library in Abeokuta, Ogun state.

Nicephore Soglo, the former president of Benin Republic, was the special guest of honour.

Obasanjo was the captain of his team, OOPL, which squared up against the Ogun team led by Noimot Salako-Oyedele, deputy governor of the state.

Despite his age, Obasanjo showed his agility and football skills by scoring two of his side’s four goals.

After the novelty match, he shared his secret to remaining agile and staying fit.

He advised everyone to practice what he calls ‘DREMS’ — diet, rest, exercise, medical attention and examination and social interaction.

“I will ask them to remember what I call ‘DREMS’; Diet, rest, exercise, medical examination and attention and social interaction,” he said.
