Five students of the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, Osun state, who were incarcerated have been granted bail.

The students were handed over to the police by the university management on March 21 for allegedly harassing security operatives.

They were on March 22 arraigned at an Ile-Ife magistrate court and were each granted N500,000 bail with two sureties on level 10.

Three of the students met the bail conditions on March 27. They are; Olajide Ademola, a 500 level undergraduate of electrical electronics; Oyedeji Samson, 300 level student of pharmacy; and Adeniji John, 300 level student of electrical electronics engineering.

The remaining two students confined at the Kosere prison yard, Ilesha, were granted bail on Thursday.

Gbenga Oloruniran, a 400 level student of geography, and Jimoh Oladipupo, 300 level student of biochemistry, had remained incarcerated due to lateness in meeting bail conditions.
