Freshmen of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) have been enjoined to work hard to restore the lost glory of the institution.
Professor Elujoba, acting vice-chancellor, said this on Thursday at the matriculation ceremony held for freshmen ahead of the 2015/2016 academic session.
Represented by A.A Amusan, dean of faculty of agriculture, the vice chancellor expressed joy that over 7,500 students were being matriculated.
He implored the students to shun cultism and help return the school to the league of Nigeria’s best institutions.
Unlike previous matriculations, the freshmen were given a lecture-free day to attend to necessary official activities relating to the ceremony.
The event, which was graced by students, parents, principal officers of the school and other important dignitaries, also required that new students take the matriculation oath.
