The National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) will be hosting the second university registrars workshop and 75th business meeting from April 22.
In a statement, Oladipo Ajayi, the NOUN registrar, said the event will come to an end on April 26.
He said the meeting is being organised in partnership with the Association of Registrars of Nigerian Universities (ARNU).
Ajayi said the event is themed “Sustainable Legal Framework as Panacea for Industrial Harmony in the Nigerian University System: Challenges and Remedies”.
He said it will witness the convergence of registrars from federal, state, and private universities across the country.
The registrar said other relevant stakeholders and eminent personalities are also expected to attend the dual event.
He said Dakas C.J. Dakas (SAN), a former attorney-general and commissioner for justice of Plateau state, will deliver the keynote address.
Other speakers and resource persons include Ekpo Nta (Esq), the CEO of the National Salaries, Incomes, and Wages Commission.
Chiedu Mafiana, the deputy vice-chancellor of academics at NOUN, and Helen Nguper Nyitse, the immediate past registrar of the Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University in Makurdi, will also be present.
Also to be in attendance is Andrew Ezadueyan Zamani, the director at the Institute of Governance and Development Studies at the Nasarawa State University (NSUK).
Ibrahim Sheme, the director of media at NOUN, said ARNU is a valuable forum for registrars from all the universities in Nigeria.
“It provides a platform to interact and share ideas on evolving university administrative management and practices,” he said.
“ARNU aims at promoting and sustaining sound, ethical, and best practices in the day-to-day administration of Nigerian universities.
“It contributes towards the development and growth of higher education in Nigeria, and fosters good healthy relationship among registrars and vice-chancellors of Nigerian universities.”
