National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) says it will step up security patrol to check the threat posed by miscreants to tourism water transport business in Lagos.

Mu’azu Sambo, NIWA’s Lagos area manager, was speaking during a facility visit to Tarzan Jetty at Badore.

The facility is owned by Tarzan Balogun, president of Tourist Boat Operators of Nigeria.

Sambo, who led the management team of NIWA on the visit, said new security measures would be put in place to arrest those disturbing operators and passengers.

He assured Balogun that NIWA will help him and other operators to continue to do their business “without let or fear”.
