Cheta Anekwe, Nigerian-born US-based actor, is set to feature in the new season of ‘Assisted Living’, a television series by Tyler Perry.
The movie star broke the news in an Instagram post in the early hours of Thursday.
Anekwe also revealed that the second season of the much-awaited project would premiere on May 25.
“I am honoured and happy to finally be able to announce that I have joined the cast of Tyler Perry’s ‘Assisted Living’. Season 2 premieres on May 25th on BET,” he wrote.
“Fabulous cast mates, David and Tamela Mann, J. Anthony Brown, Na’im Lynn, Courtney Nichole, Tayler Buck, Alex Henderson, Alretha Thomas, Damien Leake and Nicholas Duvernay, are a joy to work with!
“Fabulous directors, Mark Swinton and Derrick Doose and an awesome crew, welcomed me into the ASL family! With a new writer’s room and new characters moving into the facility, including yours truly, we hope you enjoy this upcoming season.”

He also appreciated Francis Onelum, his manager, and others who contributed to the success of the series.
The first season of the series, created and produced by Perry, a prominent US film producer, made its debut in September last year.
Anekwe has continued to pull the strings in Nollywood as well as the Hollywood with numerous projects and awards.
He featured alongside Mo’Nique in ‘Phat Girlz’, a 2006 American romantic comedy film. He also featured in ‘How To Get Away With Murder’ and CBS’s ‘Scorpion’.
