Earlier today, some Nigerians commenced a 10-day protest against economic hardship and soaring inflation in various parts of the country.

The protests have been dubbed ’10 Days of Rage’ with the hashtag #EndBadGovernance.

Portable had earlier revealed that he would not participate in the protest because he is now “rich“.

He also urged Nigerians to “fight for themselves and not for the country”.

But in a series of posts via his Instagram page, Portable claimed that only “lazy people” will take to the street to protest.

Buttressing his claim, the singer also berated some protesters who “vandalized properties”.

“It is lazy people that are protesting. If you get a job opportunity, will you work? Are you not involved in stealing and snatching bags?” he asked.

“Now you are chanting #EndBadGovernance… Is it the government that is burning tyres, breaking people’s cars and houses. Is it not you?

“Not only the government, end bad people too. People that spoilt the country, end all of them.”

The protests have intensified across various states, leading to heightened tensions and instances of violence.

In Abuja, security forces used tear gas to disperse crowds, while reports of looting and fatalities have emerged on social media.

The Borno government imposed a 24-hour curfew following a bomb explosion that claimed several lives.

Abba Yusuf, Kano’s governor, also declared a curfew after violence erupted during the economic hardship protests.
