The current record of 40 hours and 8 minutes has been held by American comedian David Scott since April 30, 2013.

In a statement on Wednesday, the Nigerian comedian said he intends to break Scott’s record.

Ijuo’s 50-hour marathon event titled ‘Laughter for a Cause’ will begin on February 14 at noon at the Banex Mall in Lekki, Lagos.

The statement revealed that the event is not just about breaking a record; it’s also a personal mission to raise $1 million for the Talent City Naija (TCN) project.

Ijuo said his vision for Talent City Naija is to create a hub where Nigeria’s most skilled and creative young talents can thrive.

“Talent City Naija is my vision to create a hub where Nigeria’s most skilful and creative young talents can thrive. It will be a space for them to live comfortably, work together, and showcase their crafts on a global stage,” it reads in part.

“This city will provide the resources, tools, and platform they need to fully explore their potential while earning sustainable incomes. For me, Talent City Naija is not just a dream—it’s a legacy project aimed at transforming lives and shaping the future of our creative industry.

“This is more than a record-breaking attempt; it’s my way of giving back to society. Nigeria is full of young people with untapped potential, and Talent City Naija is the place where their dreams can become a reality. Together, we can change lives and create something truly extraordinary.”

Ijuo called for support to help him actualize his vision for Talent City Naija. He also invited individuals and organizations to contribute through sponsorship, partnership, or other forms of assistance.

“I cannot achieve this alone, which is why I am calling for your support to help me actualize this vision. Whether through sponsorship, partnership, or other forms of assistance, your contribution will make a world of difference,” it added.
