Nicolas Cage, wife welcome first child together

Nicolas Cage, the US actor and filmmaker, and Riko Shibata, his wife, have welcomed their first child together.

The couple’s publicist told People that they welcomed a daughter named August Francesca Coppola Cage.

The baby was born on September 7 in Los Angeles.

“Nicolas and Riko are happy to announce the birth of their daughter. Mother and daughter are doing fine,” their publicist was quoted to have said.

This is the first child for Shibata, 27, while Cage, 58, is already a dad to two children — Weston, 31, and Kal-El, 16 — from previous relationships.

The pair tied the knot in Las Vegas in February 2021.

In April, ‘The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent’ actor revealed the gender of the baby during The Kelly Clarkson Show.

“And her name because of ‘Across the Universe’, her name will be Lennon Augie. Augie after my father,” he had said.

Talking to Access Hollywood, he also said he is “extremely excited” to be a father again.

“My boys are all grown up, and I miss going to the toy store. I miss singing lullabies and rocking in the rocking chair. I’m looking forward to getting back to that,” he said.

“I miss it all. I miss watching a child discover things for the first time.
