Ned Nwoko, senator representing Delta North, says the medical reports circulating online about his wife, actress Regina Daniels, are authentic.

Serenity Royale Hospital in Abuja had earlier distanced itself from a report claiming that Daniels is battling severe substance abuse.

The viral document was allegedly signed by Adekunle Adesina, the hospital’s managing director and head of clinical services.

It stated that Daniels was diagnosed with a substance use disorder and enrolled in a home-based detox programme beginning September 24, 2025.

But in a statement via X on Saturday, Nwoko said the rehabilitation centre mentioned in the documents only clarified that it did not leak the reports, not that the records were fake.

He added that the report reveals multiple substances at levels that pose “serious health risks” to the actress.

“A medical report concerning Regina Nwoko has been circulating online. The reports are genuine,” he wrote.

“The rehabilitation centre only clarified that it did not publish or circulate the documents, which is expected because medical institutions must protect client confidentiality. They did not deny authoring the reports; their concern is the leak itself.”

Nwoko said the toxicology detected marijuana, cocaine, morphine and opiates at “extremely elevated levels”, while alcohol appeared at “a critically dangerous level”.

He said a separate report from Nizamiye Hospital, dated October 3, revealed that the actress was brought in “unconscious from a drug overdose”.

According to the senator, the rehabilitation centre also reported persistent interference from Daniels’ siblings, whom he accused of enabling her substance use throughout her treatment.

“They openly stated that they do not see anything wrong in giving her alcohol and weed even while she was undergoing rehabilitation,” he claimed.

“Their actions made effective treatment impossible and remain one of the major reasons she has not been able to complete rehabilitation.”

Nwoko said his insistence on therapy stems from concerns that the actress’ recent behaviour is “not coming from a stable and healthy frame of mind”.

He added that his priority is the well-being of their two sons and ensuring that Daniels receives the intervention needed to “regain her health and stability”.

“Past attempts to help her privately did not succeed,” he said.

“Given the severity of the substances detected and the documented hospital emergency where she arrived unconscious, it is no longer an issue that can be handled quietly.

“Regina needs consistent treatment, support, and protection. Not denial, not interference, and not enabling.”

Their conflict began in October when a viral video showed Daniels in tears, accusing her husband of domestic violence.

Nwoko later fired back, claiming his wife was struggling with drug and alcohol addiction.

Daniels later admitted to using hard drugs but accused Nwoko of orchestrating her addiction as part of a pattern of control and manipulation.
