The National Examinations Council (NECO) has rescheduled the 2022 National Common Entrance Examination (NCEE) from April 23 to May 7.
NAN reports that Azeez Sani, NECO’s head of information and public relations, announced the new date in a statement on Wednesday.
Registration for the exam — conducted for admission into federal unity colleges — started in January and was originally billed to end on April 23.
According to Sani, the extension was to give states with low registration of candidates the opportunity to register more people for the exercise.
He enjoined candidates, parents, guardians, and relevant stakeholders to take note of the new date for the examination.
Sani said the registration of candidates would continue till the new date of the examination.
The NECO spokesman also advised candidates, parents, and guardians to download the new examination timetable from the council’s website — www.neco.gov.ng.
Dantani Wushishi, NECO registrar, had earlier said the registration is only for pupils who would not be less than age 10 by September 2022.
“Registration fee is N4,500 per candidate, while payment should be made into NECO treasury single account (TSA) through ATM card, bank branch, USSD, internet banking or wallet,” he had said.
