Nasboi, the Nigerian skit maker, has alleged that he received a death threat following his criticism of Wizkid’s recent remarks aimed at Don Jazzy.
In April, the ‘Ojuelegba’ hitmaker mocked Davido and Don Jazzy, the Mavin Records head honcho.
Wizkid called Don Jazzy an “influencer” while taunting Davido with a video of him on his knees, pleading and crying.
The singer’s post attracted criticism against him on social media.
In an interview with the Bahd And Boujee Podcast, Nasboi voiced his disapproval, stating that Wizkid was “wrong” to label Don Jazzy as an “influencer“.
During another chat with Cool FM, the skit maker claimed he was sent a death threat for “merely expressing my opinion”.
He also questioned why celebrities like him are restricted in expressing their opinions compared to ordinary people.
“It is like once you are a celebrity, you do not have an opinion. But you, who is a normal guy on the street, you have an opinion. You can decide to say you love Wizkid over Davido and that is okay. And me, who is a normal guy who is a celebrity, should not have the same privilege?” Nasboi asked.
“Because of what I said in my recent podcast interview. It is a simple question: Do you think Wizkid offended Don Jazzy with his statement? They asked me a direct question and I think yes. For calling him an influencer, I feel like the context was not okay. I would feel bad. And because of what I said about WizKid, somebody is in my DM saying I will die like my brother.”
Nasboi, whose real name is Nasiru Bolaji Lawal, was born in Port Harcourt in 1992.
He is famous for his artistic flair and ability to seamlessly weave his creativity through his expression of comedy and recently through music.
