A magistrate court sitting in Ogba, Lagos state has ordered the remand of Ehis Odigie, a self-acclaimed music producer; an undergraduate, and two corps members at the Kirikiri correctional facility for allegedly assaulting some police officers.

In a Twitter post, Benjamin Hundeyin, the state police command spokesperson, said the corps members are Oyedeji Motunrayo and Bolade Richard.

He said the three persons were remanded at the prison alongside Miracle Onukuoforobi, an undergraduate at Igbinedion University in Okada, Edo state.

Hundeyin said the four persons are standing trial for “serious assault” on police officers.

He also disclosed that the case has been adjourned till October 10 for the continuation of trial.

“All four were arraigned at the magistrate court, Ogba, today for serious assault on police officers. Case was adjourned till October 10, 2022,” he wrote.

“Meanwhile, all four have been remanded at Kirikiri maximum correctional facility.”

Hundeyin had earlier shared a video of the quartet engaging the officers in a heated confrontation at an undisclosed area in Lagos.

At the time, it was not clear what led to the fight.

But Hundeyin had said the police will prosecute anyone — including the officers — found culpable.

“The police officers too are undergoing questioning. Investigation is ongoing. One thing remains sure: everyone, police inclusive, found culpable will face the law!” he had written.
