Nigerian superstars Wizkid and Davido have been nominated for the 2017 MTV Europe Music Awards.

‘Sweet Love’ singer Wizkid was initially named the winner of the award in 2016 but it was later transferred to Tanzanian singer, Alikiba, after the organisers admitted their error.

Nominated once again in the Best African Act category alongside compatriot Davido, the singer will hope to have better luck this time around.

Other Africans nominated in the category are Babes Wodumo (South Africa) C4 Pedro (Angola), Nasty C (South Africa) and Nyashinski (Kenya).

Taylor Swift made her comeback just in time for EMA season leading the pack with six nominations, including Best Video for her latest hit, ‘Look What You Made Me Do’.

Ed Sheeran and Kendrick Lamar are tied with four nominations each.

Sheeran, Lamar, Swift, Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus, and Shawn Mendes are in contention for the Best Artist award which will be replacing the Best Male and Best Female categories this year.
