Mr Macaroni, the Nigerian comedian, has denied a claim that he made donations of N500,000 to a political campaign.
On Friday, a Twitter user named Adeoje Adeshina put out the claim that Macaroni and Don Jazzy donated N500,000 and N1 million respectively.
Adeshina’s e-flier portrayed him as a political aspirant contesting to become a lawmaker representing a constituency at the Osun state house of assembly.
His tweet also bears an account number seeking donations and canvassing support from the public.
“Thank you @DONJAZZY for the ₦1M donation, @mrmacaronii for the ₦500k donation, & @TeniEntertainer
for the ₦500k donation to our campaign,” the Twitter user wrote.
“We’ll now be able to provide Boreholes & Public Toilets for our people in Ayedire. You guys should please thank them for me.”

Responding to the post, Macaroni denied making any such donation.
“I didn’t make any such donation. Pls, let your campaign be based on truth. Good luck,” the comedian wrote.
“You are not being fair. If you had asked for a donation, it’s another thing. You, people, know how much attacks I get on here daily because of my political views and advocacy.
“It’s ok if you think I overreacted. But for posterity’s sake, I will always set the record straight.”
