There is no understating the richness and value of culture in Africa, Nigeria especially.

And for the African woman, the cultural expectations- especially unquestioned respect -demanded of her is a level higher than her male counterpart.

These expectations manifest in her relationship with her husband, extended family and her in-laws.

The complicated relationship of the daughter-in-law and mother-in-law dates back as long as one can remember.

That being said, would you as a lady, on your first visit the house of your future mother-in-law, join her in the kitchen, whether on your own volition or if she asks you to?
