Joseph Aloba, the father of Mohbad, the late singer, has warned that nobody should collect his son’s body for burial without his authorisation.

Born Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, Mohbad died on September 12 and was buried the following day.

The circumstances surrounding his death have continued to stir up controversies.

On September 21, the body of the 27-year-old music star was exhumed. An autopsy was carried out that same day after which the police announced that they were awaiting the results.

Two months after the exhumation, however, details of Mohbad’s autopsy results are yet to be disclosed.

There have also been calls from several Nigerians — including singer Bella Shmurda and actress Tonto Dikeh — asking for the release of Mohbad’s body for burial.

“It has been over 2 months since Moh died and his body was taken in for autopsy but yet no result which is fine. But please release his body. That boy needs a befitting burial and to go to rest,” Shmurda had said.

Reacting in a now-viral video, Aloba warned that nobody should collect his son’s body for burial without his approval.

“When this boy was alive, he was my son. When he died, he still retained my name. Nobody should go there and take his body, please,” he warned.

“If they want to do anything there, I will be the one to authorise them. Nobody should go and carry MohBad’s body from there.

“Let’s get justice for Mohbad; after burial, what is left? Let justice prevail first; the DNA is necessary.”

Mohbad’s death earlier sparked speculation about the paternity of Liam, his son, with Omowunmi.

Aloba had also said he was in support of the call for a DNA test to ascertain Liam’s “true” paternity.

Omowunmi, last month, agreed that she would conduct a DNA test on Liam after she had gotten justice for her late husband.
