‘Accelerate Your Business’, an initiative of Microsoft in partnership with Intel and HP, aims to educate SMEs on how to take advantage of technology to drive business growth.
With over 100 small and medium enterprises in attendance at De Renaissance Hotel, Ikeja, the need for evolution in the ever so dynamic business world could not be over-emphasised considering the macroeconomic challenges facing small businesses in Nigeria.
Speaking at the event, Adeniyi Adebote, the SMB Customer Marketing Manager, Microsoft Nigeria, noted that while the contribution of SMEs to Nigeria’s GDP currently stands at one per cent, they have the potential to contribute more and become the bedrock of the country’s economy.
“Accelerate your business is an opportunity for Microsoft and its partners to collaborate with Small and Medium Businesses to see how they can leverage technology devices from HP utilising Intel Processor and Microsoft Windows 10 operating system including its Office 365 Productivity Suites, as well as cloud solutions to achieve growth and greater efficiency.”
Tolu Lawani, regional marketing manager, North East and West Africa at HP, advised SMEs to adopt the right tools and technology to remain competitive in the current economic situation.
According to Tolu Lawani, “Business landscape in Nigeria is very dynamic. As such, SMEs need support from relevant private and public sectors to find their feet in the economy.”
He encouraged SMEs to register with SME Business Club which can provide them with needed supports and exclusive product offers.
