Otunta made the call while reacting to Obasi’s publication in a newspaper, calling for his resignation over alleged incompetence and corrupt practices in the university.

Speaking to journalists on Saturday, the VC said, “people like Obasi should be fished out and arrested”.

He said: “Our attention was drawn to a newspaper publication in which one Chinomso Obasi, parading himself as the President of the National Association of Nigerian students called for my resignation from office within seven days for incompetence, maladministration and overwhelming corrupt practices in the university.

“People like Obasi should be fished out and arrested. Let us stop the habit of impunity and disobeying laws and order. We are trying to build this university.

“Rules and order should be obeyed at all times; staff and students are not exempted. People like Obasi and his sponsors should be arrested without any waste of time.”
