Jude ‘MI’ Abaga, the Nigerian rapper, has announced that his upcoming album ‘The Guy’ will be released on August 19.

The Chocolate City rapper revealed the release date via a tweet on his Twitter page on Tuesday.

“Prepare to meet ‘The Guy’ August 19th,” MI tweeted alongside a promotional video for the project.

‘The Guy’ will be MI Abaga’s seventh solo album.

Earlier this month, MI put out a joint studio album alongside AQ, Loose Kaynon, and Blaqbonez titled ‘Behold the Lamb’.

In April, the rapper urged his fans to anticipate a “classic body of work” which might win the Grammys.

“And now that that’s is all over…music coming soon. Now I can focus so I release this album properly,” he wrote.

“Because it is a classic… Might win a Grammy. I appreciate your patience.”

The rapper has established himself as a household name in Africa.

He has also received an avalanche of awards and recognition. In 2009, he snagged the Best Hip Hop Act category at the MTV Africa Music Awards.
