Jude Abaga, the Nigerian rapper, says he will be retiring his stage name ‘Mr. Incredible Abaga (MI Abaga)’.
In an Instagram post on Thursday, Abaga said he will also be announcing his new stage name when he put out his new album.
The rapper said he will be using MI Abaga for the last time on July 10 during a performance.
“After over 15yrs as mister incredible, I will be retiring the name “MI Abaga” and taking on a new name for my new project because, my new album hard af and it deserves a new name,” he wrote.
“My final act as MI will be a performance at The Vibe on the 10th of July where I will celebrate my legacy as Africa’s greatest rapper.”

Not long after announcing his engagement to his partner, MI said his next album, which he described as a “classic” project, might win a Grammy award.
“And now that that’s is all over…music coming soon. Now I can focus so I release this album properly,” he had written.
“Because it is a classic… Might win a Grammy. I appreciate your patience.”
The rapper has established himself as a household name in Africa.
He has also received an avalanche of awards and recognition. In 2009, he snagged the Best Hip Hop Act category at the MTV Africa Music Awards.
