MI Abaga, Chocolate City president, has made known his intention to venture into Nollywood.
Abaga on Tuesday said one of his 2019 goals is to produce a movie.
The hip hop star, who has released several albums, is the latest artiste to veer into the world of make-believe.
Falz, Reminisce, Ill Bliss and Phyno are fellow rappers who have turned to Nollywood in recent time, with each of them starring in blockbuster movies.
Ill Bliss and Reminisce played major roles in Kemi Adetiba’s ‘King of Boys’ while Phyno featured as Pete Edochie’s on-screen son in ‘Lionheart’, a movie directed by Genevieve Nnaji.
Falz, on the other hand, has appeared in the award-winning ‘Jenifa’s Diary’ and also in the box office hit, ‘Chief Daddy’.
Announcing his bid to join his peers in Nollywood, Abaga wrote on Instagram: “Boss mode activated this 2019. One of my goals this year that I’m gonna share… is I’m going to produce a movie.
“Okay now it’s out there!!! No going back.”
The rapper and his label mates recently released a ferocious cypher sponsored by Martell.
The cypher features the top rappers on the roster of Chocolate City: M.I Abaga, Loose Kanyon, AQ and Blaqbonez.
