Mercy Chinwo, the Nigerian gospel singer, and Blessed Uzochikwa, her husband, have welcomed their second child together.
The ‘Excess Love’ hitmaker shared the news on Friday via Instagram, posting a stunning maternity photo with her beaming husband.
While keeping the baby’s name and gender private, in her heartfelt caption, Chinwo poured out gratitude to God.
“The Lord has done it again! He has added to our joy, multiplied our laughter and blessed us with the precious gift of a second baby. We declare, his name will be lifted in our lineage forever,” she wrote.
“Generations from us will walk in His light. Through us, many will be blessed and the nations will call us blessed. To the glory of God, our precious gift.”

The power couple’s love story began with a June 2022 engagement, followed by a glamorous wedding in the singer’s hometown in Port Harcourt a month later. They welcomed their first bundle of joy in 2023.
Chinwo rose to fame after winning Nigerian Idol Season 2, subsequently becoming one of Africa’s most celebrated gospel artistes with multiple awards to her name.
Uzochikwa is the senior pastor of the Water Brook Church. He is known for his spiritual and inspirational messages.
