On Monday, the singer thrilled fans at the ongoing Calabar Carnival, an activity to mark Christmas celebration yearly.

Mayorkun blessed the audience with some of his hit songs at the U.J. Esuene Stadium after which he was led off the stage amid pandemonium.

It was thereafter reported that the singer’s multi-million naira diamond necklace was snatched from his neck.

Shortly after his performance, the singer took to his social media page to express displeasure with the way he was treated in Calabar.

“Calabar, You’ll probably never ever see me again, goodluck to the other artistes coming for your festivals tho,” he wrote.

Although Mayorkun did not share more details about his grievance, Iyanya, his colleague, pleaded with the “person who stole” Mayorkun’s jewellery to return it.

“My Calabar people, this is very bad for the peaceful people I know us to be. The government has brought my colleagues to entertain you, all you owe them is protection and great hospitality. If you know anyone who stole from my brother , please return it, and I will personally compensate you. Drop it at The Grand Hotel. I will personally compensate you please,” Iyanya wrote.

In another post on Snapchat, Mayorkun: “Can’t be bothered about internet commentary ever since like 2021. Can’t give people with the least information, the most consideration, at all”.
