May Edochie says she battled with depression after Yul Edochie, her celebrity husband, took a second wife.

Yul had announced the arrival of a child with Judy Austin, his lover, in April — to the chagrin of May, his first wife.

The actor also unveiled Judy as his second wife, generating mixed reactions across social media.

Yul had put out a monologue where he spoke about his reasons for resorting to polygamy.

But in a recent video where she addressed her marriage and how she is coping with the new normal, May said she had fallen into depression after Yul took a second wife.

She said the support of her family and members of the public kept her strong and going.

“I saw a few comments where some people were saying I’m using this to cash out. I said it’s fine. I don’t wish this upon my enemy if at all I have any,” May said.

“Depression is real and there are different stages of it. Rather than dwell in depression, I decided to pick up the pieces of the beautiful world I had that suddenly crashed and move on.

“Rather than dwell in depression. It hasn’t been easy. I’m glad that I look happy and appear strong. I’m surprised at the things I do. It’s the support and love from family and fans. It’s what has kept me going.”
