The judge, Mosun Bodunde, found the man and his son guilty of murder of Clement Ayeni, a chief who was killed while working in his farm.

Bodunde said that the prosecution proved beyond reasonable doubts that the duo committed the murder on June 27, 2012.

“The sentence of the court upon you is that you be hanged by the neck until you will be dead,” NAN quoted the judge as saying.

“May the Lord have mercy on your souls,” the judge held.

Familoni Adeniyi, Ekiti state counsel, had submitted that the convicts murdered the deceased at Ose Egbeda camp in Emure-Ekiti in Ekiti east local government area.

He noted that the offence contravened section 316 of the Criminal Code Cap C 16, Laws of Ekiti state, 2012.
