Emmiwuks, the adventurer cycling from Lagos to the United States, appears to have faced an unexpected hurdle in Ghana after customs officials allegedly confiscated a critical package sent to him from Nigeria.

The 25-year-old, whose real name is Emmanuel Myam, began his transcontinental journey on July 1, traveling through Benin Republic and Togo before arriving in Ghana 10 days later.

However, his planned departure from Ghana was abruptly put on hold when authorities allegedly seized a shipment containing vital equipment for his trip.

In a video shared via Instagram on Monday, Emmiwuks revealed that the package, which included a drone, laptop, hard drive, and memory cards, was detained upon arrival in Accra.

He expressed frustration over the delay, stating he was forced to navigate bureaucratic hurdles instead of continuing his journey.

“‎I’m suppose to hit the road today but a friend waybilled something for me from Nigeria to Accra,” he said.

“Getting to the airport to collect the package, I discovered that the package has been seized and I have to do clearance, answer questions before getting them.

“This morning that I’m suppose to hit the road, I will be going to the airport, aviation office, costum to see if I can get the package.

“I can’t explain how the package got into the hands of immigration. The package include a drone, laptop, hard drive and memory cards.

“Throughout yesterday, I was running up and down to get the package. Later in the day, I will update you on the package. I’m worried and tired because this has not happened to me before.”

Emmiwuks, who gained fame in 2022 for cycling from Makurdi to Lagos to meet music star Davido, earlier said his inspiration comes from personal struggles and a near-death experience in 2023.

He added that his journey aims to support orphaned and displaced children across Africa.
