Majid Michel, the Ghanaian actor, says he engaged in drugs and street fights in the past before he found Christ.

The film star turned evangelist spoke when he featured on the latest episode of ‘The Reason is Jesus, a Joy FM programme.

Michel said at the time, he also engaged in smoking and drinking with friends.

“I used to go out to drink, go and booze, we go and smoke, get into fights on the streets. So, I did some drugs; we tried something to see how it goes. We get into fights at Members next to Glenz at Osu,” he disclosed.

Citing his experience as an instance, Michel enjoined people to be careful when deciding the kind of friends to keep.

“Friends are critical. Be careful in choosing them because those you associate with play a role in how your life turns out,” he added.

“If you are listening to me out there and you are a young guy be careful who you associate with as it has a serious consequence on your future”.

Michel was born in Cantonments, a suburb of Accra, to a Lebanese father and a Ghanaian mother.

He started professional acting by auditioning for a modelling agency a neighbour had introduced him to.

The 41-year-old actor would later get his Nollywood debut in ‘Emerald’, a 2009 romantic drama, playing the lead role alongside Genevieve Nnaji.

The film star is married to Virna Michel with whom he has three beautiful kids.
