Made Kuti, the fast-rising Afrobeat singer, has shared a photo of himself and Femi, his father, in court to support Seun, his uncle.

Seun was recently arrested, detained, and arraigned after being filmed assaulting a police officer on the Third Mainland Bridge.

Concerns were thereafter raised on social media about the family’s silence.

But in an Instagram post on Wednesday, Made proved critics wrong by sharing a photo of himself, his father, and their lawyer in court to support Seun.

He also expressed his dislike for using social media to prove his family’s efforts.

Made said negative reactions to his father’s social media post prompted him to share the photo.

“At court yesterday. I don’t like that we have to post things on social media to show/prove we’re doing everything we can as a family. But here you go,” he said.

“Because of this many are cursing at us under my father’s last post, swearing at us for doing nothing. We must accept there’s much more to life than what we see on our phones.”

On Tuesday, police conducted a search at Seun’s home.

Benjamin Hundeyin, Lagos police spokesperson, said the agency “stumbled on certain suspicious things that have warranted the search”.
