Modenine, Nigerian rapper, has released an EP he recorded 11 years ago with producer Kid Konnect.
Although it isn’t exactly a new project, ‘Long Story Short’ is the first music the rapper has released in two years.
“Years back me and @kidkonnect hooked up online.. Around 2007 to be exact,” he said.
“Here’s 5 joints we did back then. #longstoryshort #ep. My boy @redmoney_mellow did the artwork. He’s a genius.”
Born Babatunde Olusegun Adewale, Modenine is a seven-time winner of the Headies’ lyricist on the roll award.
The ‘Ogun Isoye’ rapper predominantly does conscious hip-hop where he doesn’t hold back in flexing his lyrical muscles and this has resulted in his limited acceptance in the Nigerian market.
Regardless, the veteran rapper still has his loyal fan base in the country.
Modenine has released six projects since 2006 beginning with the mixtape ‘Pentium IX’.
Modenine went on to release ‘E’Pluribus Unum’ in 2007, ‘The Paradigm Shift’ in 2008, ’51Lex Presents No Competition’ in 2011, ‘Above Ground Level’ in 2014, ‘Insulin’ and ‘Da Vinci Mode’ weeks apart in 2016.
