Lizzy Anjorin, the Nollywood actress, has responded to claims that she’s jealous of her longtime rival Iyabo Ojo’s daughter’s wedding.
Priscilla Ojo and Tanzanian singer Juma Jux held their traditional and white weddings in Lagos last week, following their Islamic traditional wedding in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, in February.
Fans had taunted Lizzy online, suggesting she was bitter over the high-profile celebration, given her longstanding feud with Iyabo.
But in a recent Instagram video, Lizzy questioned why she’d be jealous of Priscilla, describing her as a “beautiful girl” who has “maintained her lane”.
The film star made a subtle jab about every mother wanting a daughter who works with them, “whether you are a thief, a blackmailer, a destroyer”.
The actress also addressed her critics, saying they were trying to “destroy” her, but God was using them to “promote” her instead.
‘’Let’s forget about the mother. Let’s face the daughter. Who will ever hate such a wedding? Who dares to hate such a wedding? Do we want to talk about how focused that lady is? How determined she is?” she said.
“The happiness of every mother is to have a daughter who will work along with you, regardless of who you are. Whether you are a thief, a blackmailer, a destroyer, or rich as a mother, every mother prays for a child who always thinks along with the mother.
“Who will hate such a wedding? A wedding that they did not tell us anything negative about the wife or the husband or the mother-in-law or the father-in-law? So, tell me what you want to hate about that wedding?
“If we are talking about the wife, she has been on her own, been a very beautiful girl, she has maintained her lane. I have said that because you are destroying me does not mean I am going to destroy you in return. You guys are trying to destroy me, but instead God is using you to promote me.”

The feud between Lizzy and Iyabo started in 2023, with accusations and insults traded on Instagram.
In November 2023, Anjorin alleged that Iyabo “was the individual behind” a well-known yet shadowy blog.
She also claimed Iyabo was aware of the circumstances surrounding the death of Mohbad, the singer.
Iyabo, however, filed a N500 million lawsuit against Anjorin over alleged libel. She demanded a public apology and retraction of the commentaries.
Although they seemed to have ended their feud in June 2024, it appears to have reignited.
