The less than four-minute track, which is produced by Duktor Sett, Benjamin James, and Okorie Kingsley, was released in the early hours of Friday.

In ‘Adaugo’, the duo sing about their earnest desire for a specific lover.

“Obima, you’re the air that I breathe tonight|If I craze, I go craze for you|Nothing dey but I dey with you|For the night, baby why, all the things that I feel for you,” they sing in English and Pidgin.

The brothers started out as backup singers for several artistes before carving a niche of their own.

The highlife duo officially began their journey in the music industry in 2018.

They released their debut single ‘Osondu’ in 2020. They also came through with ‘Roots’, their first album, in August of the same year.

In October 2021, they released ‘Love and Highlife’, their sophomore album, featuring Cobham Asuquo, Made Kuti, Etuk Obong, and PC Lapez.

Speaking on how they arrived at their stage name, one of the brothers said: “I was in Kano during my days at law school, when the name just dropped on me. I think my experience at the law school just inspired the name.

“When I got back home, I told my brother about it and he accepted it and we started using the name.”

The brothers also revealed why they sing in Igbo — despite not understanding the language.

“We don’t know how to speak the language but singing in Igbo is the only way we can connect with the culture,” they said.
