Habeeb Okikiola, the Nigerian singer better known as Portable, has teased a new track inspired by the recent airport incident involving Fuji legend KWAM 1.
The controversy began on August 5 when the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) disclosed that the 68-year-old musician attempted to board a ValueJet Airlines flight to Lagos with an “unidentified liquid substance”.
The airport authorities alleged that the singer disregarded warnings from aviation security (AVSEC) and the flight captain.
FAAN also accused KWAM 1 of spilling alcohol on aviation personnel when they attempted to verify the content of a flask he wanted to travel with.
In a recent Instagram post, Portable shared a studio clip teasing his upcoming song.
In the snippet, he refers to the incident as “a display of magic,” suggesting that the pilot tried to undermine KWAM 1’s greatness.
He also claimed the veteran musician escaped a “death trap” due to his spiritual strength.
“Aeroplane odabo/ Bami ki Iyami eleko/ Na water no be alcohol/ E ye ma paja fun wa lobo/ Devilman the plane stopper/ Pilot fe pogo/ Ifura ko ogun agba/ Opelope ajesara/ Ibere Mo wa o Ibere Mo wa iku re koja ibere mowa oo/ Idagba soke iku re koja/ Idagba soke,” he sings in a mix of Yoruba and Pidgin.

On Wednesday, TheCable reported that the Fuji musician’s “disorderly conduct” led to the suspension of two ValueJet pilots.
The singer had previously argued that the substance was “plain drinking water” given to him at the airport lounge while awaiting boarding and “not alcohol”.
On Friday, the music icon expressed regret over the controversy but clarified that the flask he carried contained “only water”.
KWAM 1 described the incident as “unfortunate” and said that he suffers from chronic dehydration, necessitating constant hydration as advised by his doctor.
Despite his explanation, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has imposed an indefinite travel ban on KWAM 1 until the investigation is over.
