JAE5, UK music producer, has enlisted Skepta and Rema for a new song titled ‘Dimension’.
The song — released in the early hours of Friday — is accompanied by a music video the trio had filmed in Ghana.
JAE5 has produced songs for J Hus, a British rapper; and Gunna, a US rap star, among others. He also produced ‘Bank on It’, the closing track on Burna Boy’s ‘Twice as Tall’ which recently won a plaque at the 2021 Grammys.
Speaking on the premise for the collaboration, JAE5 described Skepta and Rema as “the perfect combination”.
“For my first single, I wanted to pull off something that represented me well. It had to be heavily influenced by Afrobeats and the UK urban scene,” the music producer said in a statement.
“Skepta and Rema are the perfect combinations. ‘Dimension’ is a meaningful track with a vibe! Skepta as always delivers the maddest verse and Rema on the hook—that guy just isn’t normal! I hope everyone enjoys the track.”
In turn, Rema rose to prominence after the release of ‘Iron Man’, his single which appeared on US President Barack Obama’s 2019 summer playlist. This was after he had signed a record deal with Mavin Records, Don Jazzy’s brand.
As a British rapper, Skepta has made his mark on the music scene. He has had five albums, five mixtapes, and one collaborative body of work. He has also been nominated for multiple awards including the Brit Awards.
