Aboriomoh Raymond, a Nigerian singer better known as Dremo, has come through with ‘Thieves in Uniform’, his latest single.
The DMW-signed singer released the less than two-minute project on Monday.
In the song, the ‘Codename‘ crooner examined the ordeals of Nigerians in the hands of operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).
He also slammed the federal government for not tackling the menace of the police unit, despite ceaseless complaints from Nigerians.
“When this police brutality go stop (stop). The government don’t give a f**k We dey try avoid the police anytime we commot (commot),” he could be heard singing.
“I pray we never run out of luck (Amen) Cos in every check point. If you carry dreadlocks then something must occur (Gad) Or if you carry big car. They’ll be pointing fingers. Dem go talk sey make you stop, park, inner light…”
The song’s release comes at about the same time when there are growing calls for proscription of SARS over alleged harassment and extrajudicial killing of Nigerians
The renewed protests against SARS started on Saturday after a video showing a man allegedly gunned down in Delta by operatives of the police unit went viral.
Dremo has continued to pull the weights of fame in the entertainment scene ever since he was signed by Davido, an Afropop singer.
In 2017, the 26-year-old music star had recounted how working with the DMW team, founded by Davido, helped nurture his music career.
