Lil Frosh, the rapper accused of assaulting his girlfriend, is back in the news as sketchy speculations suggest he was recently arrested by the Lagos state police.
In October 2020, Mayoks Michael had accused Lil Frosh of beating his sister, Gift Camille.
This had prompted a heated backlash and widespread condemnation from both prominent celebrities and fans.
As a result, Davido Music Worldwide (DMW) ended its contract with the 22-year-old musician. It said that there was no excuse for the actions of the accused.
But in a fresh development on Saturday, a video surfaced online showing Lil Frosh walking into a police station.
It was claimed that he had been invited by the police on February 4 but was subsequently remanded in custody. Zinoleesky, a singer who is a friend of the accused, also made an Instastory post asking that his “brother” be freed.
When contacted, Muyiwa Adejobi, spokesman of the Lagos police, couldn’t immediately verify details of the case.
The new frenzy tailing Lil Frosh comes after he denied beating Camille and linked her swollen face to an allergy.
“I didn’t do it. I didn’t beat this girl up. She’s my girlfriend. She called me saying she noticed she’s having a boil at the back of her ear. I asked what it was and she said maybe it’s an allergic reaction,” the singer had explained.
“I called her once to ask how she was doing. And she said she’s not feeling fine. She said that thing is getting worse.
“She’s sending pictures to me day by day. The progression of the allergic reaction. Yes. It happened for seven days. I love her so much even after all these, I’m speaking my truth. I didn’t do it.”
Lil Frosh recently collaborated with Zinoleesky on a song titled ‘Omo Ologo’
