Grammy award-winning jazz percussionist, Lekan Babalola, will perform in six cities across the United Kingdom in a tour tagged ‘Ebo’.
Ebo translates as a ‘traditional offering’ in the Yoruba language.
The Ebo tour kicks off on Saturday, June 17 at Somerfest Festival, featuring spoken word by Olu Taiwo.
The Sacred Funk train will subsequently perform at Mostly Jazz And Funk Mosley Park in Birmingham on July 9.
Babalola will also perform in Manchester, Essex, London and Bristol.
The founder of Eko Brass Band has twice won the Grammy Awards – with Cassandra Wilson and Malian guitarist, Ali Farka Touré.
He is currently touring the world with the ‘Atomic Bomb – The Music of William Onyeabor’ featuring the likes of David Byrne (Talking Heads), Money Mark (Beastie Boys), and Alexis Taylor (Hot Chips).
