Kemi Lala Akindoju, the Nollywood actress, has announced the passing of Williams Akindoju, her father.
In an Instagram post on Tuesday, the actress disclosed her father died on December 20 at 71.
Akindoju expressed her grief and sadness at ending the year without her father, whom she described as a “present and loving” parent.
“Sometimes, you think you’re ready, but nothing prepares you for the loss of a present & loving parent like my daddy. Started the year with my daddy, ending it without my daddy,” she wrote.

However, Akindoju did not disclose the cause of his death.
The actress started her career in 2005. Akindoju has featured in several movies and TV series including ‘Oloture’, ‘The Smart Money Woman’, ‘Okafor’s Law’, ‘This is my Desire’ and ‘Stuck’.
She has established herself as a popular figure in the Nigerian movie industry and won numerous awards.
She won the Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) ‘Most Promising Actor’ and Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) trailblazer award in 2016.
In 2019, she also won The Future Awards ‘Actor of the Year’.
The actress married OritseGbubemi Fregene in September 2018. The marriage is blessed with two children.
