KWASU disables portal access of student tickling women for skits

The management of Kwara State University (KWASU) has disabled the website portal access of a student over a controversial skit. 

In a trending video on X, the skitmaker, simply identified as Olamilekan, was seen tickling ladies on their waists.

Another clip showed the student pecking random ladies on their cheeks while later revealing to them that it was for social media content.

An X user warned residents and students in the school community to be careful of the skitmaker.

Other netizens criticised the skitmaker while advising him to find other means to create content.

Reacting to the videos on Wednesday, Saeedat Aliyu, the KWASU’s acting spokesperson, said the student is being disciplined.

Aliyu revealed that Olamilekan’s access to the university’s website portal has been disabled.

The spokesperson said the move is the first disciplinary measure taken against the student, pending the outcome of an investigation by KWASU’s student disciplinary committee.

She said the skits “did not reflect the values of the institution nor do they reflect its ethical orientation”.

Aliyu said Jimoh Shaykh-Luqman, KWASU’s vice chancellor, had directed the school’s technical department to erase the student’s data from the portal.

“KWASU is an institution that prides itself on producing the total graduate, both in character and in learning, and has zero tolerance for any form of indiscipline,” she said.

“We wish to reiterate that KWASU holds in high esteem the values of decency that all religions promote and will not condone any act that can joepardise this value.”
