Kodak Black, the US rapper, has been hospitalised after sustaining a gunshot injury during an after-party organised by Justin Bieber, the Canadian singer.

According to TMZ, the rapper was outside a restaurant in West Hollywood, California, where Bieber’s Super Bowl party was held on Saturday when the shooting started.

In a statement, the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) said the rapper and three others were injured during the incident.

The statement said those injured have already been hospitalised, adding that they are in “a stable condition.”

Police also said a preliminary investigation showed the incident happened after a “physical altercation” ensued “between several individuals at the location.”

“Detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Wilshire Area are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect responsible for an early morning shooting,” it read.

 

“On February 12, 2022, around 2:45 a.m., Wilshire Area officers responded to gunshots heard in the 400 block of North La Cienega Boulevard. Upon arrival, officers located two victims of gunshot wounds.

“Preliminary investigation revealed there was a physical altercation between several individuals at the location. Gunshots were fired by an unknown suspect, who then fled south from the location.

“Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded and transported two victims to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.

“Officers discovered there were two additional victims who self-transported to local hospitals, bringing the total shot to four. All four victims are listed in stable condition.

“The suspect is described as a male Black. No arrests have been made.”
