Kevin Hart, an American comedian and Hollywood actor, is said to be in “intense pain” after undergoing back surgery to fix three fractures to his spine sustained in a recent car crash.

The 40-year-old film star was involved in a ghastly car accident and had undergone surgery after Jared Black, his friend, lost control of his vehicle and plunged all down a gully in collision with a wooden wall.

According to TMZ, the surgery undergone by the film star involved fusing three spinal fractures — two in the thoracic section of his spine and one in the lumbar — and has left him in gruelling pains and under heavy pain medications.

Although the surgery was successful, as early reported, Kevin is expected to undergo weeks of recovery, which his doctors  claimed would be “a long road” ahead of physical rehabilitation.

“Kevin is still going through hell. We’re told he has to be heavily medicated because the pain is just that intense,” the news outlet said.

On September 1, Hart had been en route on a road trip with Black, who drove his recently purchased 1970 Plymouth Barracuda; and Rebecca Broxterman, a personal trainer to Hart and his wife.

After the horrid collision, police who visited the scene said Hart had left by himself to get medical attention while the impact of the collision crushed the roof of the vehicle and trapped Broxterman and Black until help came their way.
