Keke Palmer, the US actress, has become the first woman in 15 years to win the Emmy award for ‘Outstanding Host for a Game Show’.
The Creative Arts Emmys took place at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, USA, on Sunday.
Palmer secured the win for her role in the NBC revival of ‘Password’.
The movie star triumphed over a field of seasoned game show hosts, including Ken Jennings and Mayim Bialik of ‘Jeopardy!’, Steve Harvey of ‘Family Feud’, and Pat Sajak of ‘Wheel of Fortune’.
To celebrate her win, the actress took to Instagram to express gratitude to Jimmy Fallon, the US TV host, for providing her with the opportunity to showcase her talent.
Palmer also extended thanks to the Emmys for the award.
“Could not do it without you @jimmyfallon! I am so grateful for the opportunity to be a part of such a classic game show such as Password. It is a true honour, I won! I am excited, Boots! Thank you to the @televisionacad ✨,” she wrote.

Palmer’s victory marks the end of a 15-year streak since Meredith Vieira took home the trophy in 2009 for hosting ‘Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?’.
The movie star is also the first black woman to be nominated or win in the category.
