Junior Pope, a Nollywood actor, has urged men to always lend their wives a helping hand at home.

The movie star, whose real name is Pope Obumneme Odonwodo, took to his Instagram page on Thursday to share a video of himself bathing their new baby.

Junior Pope and Jennifer Awele, his wife, had welcomed their third child — a baby boy — in October.

In a post accompanying the video, the actor said it is imperative for men to help their wives with some chores at home as they are not “jacky”.

The father of three went on to pray for parents who go through a lot just to ensure the well-being of their children.

“God bless our parents joor ……not justmama. When I am home, my kids know I am home……… . We need to assist women, them no be jacky,” he wrote.

Junior Pope tied the knot with Awele in 2014 and the union has been blessed with three boys. He has featured in several Nollywood hit movies including ‘Secret Adventures’ and ‘The Generals’.

The actor further stretches the list of Nigerian male celebrities advocating gender equality at home.

In May, Dele Momodu, a media personality, had engaged in cooking and washing of dishes to encourage men to assist their wives at home.

The challenge, introduced by by Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD), an ace actor, was aimed at ensuring men also engage in chores considered by many to be exclusive for women.
