Julius Agwu, the ace Nigerian comedian, is mourning the loss of his mother.
Agwu announced the news on his X page, sharing a poignant video from one of his visits to her on the farm.
The footage captures a tender moment where he surprises his mother, fondly referred to as Mama Gee, while she is peeling cassava stems.
Her face lights up with joy upon seeing him, and the two share a warm exchange in their local dialect, showcasing their close bond.
“My dearest mother has gone to be with the Lord 😭😭😭 Mama Gee, you will be dearly missed. Rest in peace,” he wrote.

While the comedian did not disclose the specific date of her passing, he expressed the sense of loss he feels, describing her as someone he “will dearly miss” and wishing her peaceful rest.
Agwu began his career on stage in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, where he grew up.
He has featured in numerous television series and movies such as ‘Torn’ (2013), ‘A Long Night’ (2014) and ‘After Count’ (2011). He is also famous for one of his evergreen ‘Mama Junior’ comedy.
In April 2022, the actor was in the news over concerns about his health. There were also rumours that his wife abandoned him due to his health condition.
In the same year, the comic actor confirmed the rumours, adding that he and his wife have parted ways.
He also admitted that the rumours about his health challenge were true.
