The singer, during a recent interview with Vivz, a YouTuber, said he wrote the song to shed light on domestic abuse against women.

Joeboy also said he feels it was “right” to speak against the act because it is prevalent in Africa.

“Domestic abuse is something that happens a lot in African society. Sometimes women are maltreated and not treated properly,” he said.

“I wanted to shed light on domestic violence against women. Apart from singing about fun stuff, I feel it is just right to touch on topics like that.”

Joeboy also disclosed he would like to delve into acting while describing it as “fun”.

“I see it as something that is fun. The fact that I can take on another character comfortably. I acted as a mechanic for Adenuga visuals and I killed it,” he added.
