Nomthi Odukoya died last Tuesday after battling cancer for two years.

The couple had celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary in January 2020.

Odukoya’s marriage to Nomthi — a South African — came a few years after Bimbo, his first wife, died in the 2005 Sosoliso plane crash which occurred in Port Harcourt, Rivers state.

Regardless of the demise of his wife, Taiwo led a worship session at his church in Lagos, and this spurred Jimmy to take to his Instagram page heap praise on his dad.

The film star commended his father for fighting what “would break a lesser man”, adding that “na man you be.”

The Nollywood actor also said he is privileged to be the senior pastor’s son, adding that he couldn’t have prayed for a better father.

“I sit here and marvel at the man my father, pastor Taiwo, is. He lost his wife, pastor Nomthi, on Tuesday; (2nd wife he would lose to death ), and here He is worshipping on stage in church on Sunday leading the church to worship; What manner of man is this?” Jimmy wrote.

“The battles He has fought would break a lesser man; I am fully persuaded that the very breath of God flows through him and that is what continues to strengthen him. Ah Pastor Taiwo Odukoya!! Na man you be !!! What an honour to come from your loins and carry your last name!

“What a privilege to be your son! What an advantage to have your DNA !! To a General in God’s Army; Your battle scars sing of your victories! I salute you Sir! No son could have a better Father.”
