James Uche, a Nollywood actor battling kidney disease, has returned to the hospital after being ejected owing to his inability to pay his fees.
Uche, who has been hospitalised for several months, is in need of a kidney transplant and eye surgery.
Chioma Okoye, an actress, says Abia governor Okezie Ikpeazu, has donated N3 million for the treatment of Uche.
“We thank His Excellency, governor of Abia state, Okezie Ikpeazu, for his support to Prince James Uche. We had a crucial meeting with his excellency on Sunday, January 8 and the sum of N3 million was dropped on Monday, January 9, as his personal contribution to continue Prince James’ treatment.
The governor was also said to have approved N10 million as Abia state government donation while his wife made a personal contribution of N1 million.
“The needed amount is almost complete as we have paid some to the hospital and now started plans to get him a home and fly him abroad with his son, best friend and kidney donor.”
James Uche Junior, son of the actor, has thanked Nigerians for sending his father back to the hospital after being kicked out.
He said: “I want to sincerely thank Nigerians for coming to our aid at our time of distress. We are back in the hospital. We have paid the hospital N2m and we are left with 652k.
“Without your continuous prayers and donations, we wouldn’t have made it. By the grace of God, my family will never shed tears again because you all sent my dad back to the hospital to continue his treatment.”
