James Uche, a Nollywood actor who requires N11 million to undergo kidney transplant and eye surgery abroad, has been ejected from a Lagos hospital, says his son.
The ejection followed the notice of payment that was given by the hospital where the actor had received treatment.
Uche had been warned that his treatment would be stopped and would have to vacate the premises due to incurred debt.
James Uche Junior, son of the actor, revealed his father’s current state in a video posted on Instagram.
He said: “Today, January 3rd is a day I will never forget in my life as we have been asked to leave the hospital due to incurred debts.
“My dream for my father to see and regain his health is getting hopeless, with the heaviness in my soul, I still plead with the good people of Nigeria to sow a seed in my father’s life.”
Ifeanyi Dike, Board of Trustees (B.O.T) chairman of Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), has implored Nigerians to come to the actor’s aid as the sickness has blinded his eyes.
“Prince James Uche desperately needs immediate surgery due to his inflamed kidney that has resulted to blindness.
“Please, I would like to knock on your hearts to please assist to raise funds like I have donated too. I survived this in India and I want him to survive too.”
Ifeanyi Dike further urged fellow actors and Nigerians to show kindness to Uche, a former vice president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN).
