The Afropop singer hit the limelight after winning the second edition of MTN Project Fame, a music talent show, in 2008.

He had started his music career in the R&B genre where he thrived with ‘Love Truly’ and ‘Iyanya’, two hit songs on ‘My Story’, his 2009 album.

Following the underwhelming performance of the aforementioned singles and the lack of commercial acceptability, Iyanya subsequently switched to Afropop.

After a stint with MMMG, a record label he crowned with Franklin, Iyanya left the music label to launch his own in 2016.
