Regina Daniels, the Nollywood actress, has denied claims that she usually patronises Jaruma, the Nigerian sex therapist.

The film star took to Instagram to also debunk insinuations that she bought kayan mata to retain Ned Nwoko, her politician husband.

Kayan mata, in Nigerian parlance, refers to herbs or potions that act as sex or love enhancers and aphrodisiacs.

It is a combination of herbs, fruits, and spices used to heighten and stimulate the sexual feelings of one’s partner.

They were originally used by married women to spice up sexual relations but have, over time, been peddled online as voodoo-like herbs for young ladies looking to attract attention from rich men or “secure” their husbands.

Regina’s outburst comes a few hours after Laila Charani, Nwoko’s fifth wife, revealed that she is now divorced from the businessman.

Shortly after Charani’s revelation, some fans had accused the actress of using kayan mata to end her husband’s marriage to the Moroccan model.

But in her reaction, the film star said she had only helped the controversial sex therapist to create awareness for her brand.

She added that she had never purchased the products from Jaruma for personal use.

“This is for clarity’s sake. I have and will never use any kayanmata product. Jaruma paid me to help make random posts for her. I personally gave my terms concerning the kind of posts to be made,” the actress wrote.

“I was mindful with my choice of words so as not to mislead the public. I was simply creating awareness for her brand. We became friends. I was warned severally to keep her at arms length and mind my association with her.

“But it is not in my nature to judge a person from another’s perspective but in her case, I should have known better.

“She constantly uses every opportunity to create content to profit off my person and my brand even after our payment deal expired. I tolerated it because I believed I understood her person.

“I felt I should give her the benefit of doubt and maintain a cordial friendship.”

Regina also ended ties with Jaruma while also stating that she would no longer tolerate being portrayed in a “bad light” by the sex therapist.

“But This time, I will not tolerate Jaruma using this issue that practically portrays me as a bad person for her selfish desires knowing fully well, that I have never and will never use whatever she sells as I have no reason to,” she added.

“I and my brand as Regina Daniels has no business/association with Jaruma and her products.”

In 2019 at the age of 59, Nwoko, who is a billionaire businessman, had married Regina who was then 19.

This fueled mixed reactions based on the duo’s age difference while many questioned the actress’ motivations.

Regina and Nwoko had, in June 2020, welcomed their first child together.

But Nwoko would later reveal that the actress knows he can marry more wives to have more children.
